Facebook has millions of active users and a majority of them are sharing their
personal information and uploading photographs of themselves and share
them with their friends and other members. Facebook, just like any other
social networking sites can pose a threat to its members.
Having your personal information available online, you are making yourself
more susceptible from being victimized. It is up to you how much
information you would like to provide but you must remember that all
information provided can be used as hints to find you. This is
particularly dangerous especially to young members who could easily be
manipulated by unknown members as it is very easy to sign up. Also, you
could post yourself to be just anybody and because Facebok is a social networking site, having a new friend request does not seem all that extraordinary and you could
easily gain access to private photos and information. Adding your school
or company name would make it a lot easier for anyone to find you. And
with posting those information online, you’re just inviting trouble to
come and get you.

So, make sure you only provide your information that wouldn’t make you an
easy target. These social networking sites make it a lot easier for
criminals to catch their prey so everybody must be aware of this silent
danger.
